LUSU is excited to announce the creation of a new initiative to support clubs and students: The LUSU Club Lottery. And guess what? It’s live!  

You can begin supporting clubs here.  

What is it?

The LUSU Club Lottery is a support charity dedicated to helping raise funds for Lancaster Sports teams and clubs. It’s a chance for family and friends, alumni, and students, to support uni sports – all while being in with the chance to win cash prizes of up to £25,000 each week!  

Your support means more funds for your chosen team(s). Meaning better equipment and kits, more provisions, access to further coaching and more.  

All for as little as £5 a month!

How it Works:

It’s simple:   

  • Choose the club you want to support  

  • Follow the instructions and set up your monthly direct debit  

  • Get entered into weekly prize draws

Where Your Money Goes:

When you register, you’re directly supporting clubs and LUSU. Your club are guaranteed to receive 50% of total lottery sales every draw.  

Let’s break it down: for every weekly £1 entry allocated to a club, 50p will go towards that club. This gives them the opportunity to afford better equipment, and further provisions. 

40p will go towards prizes and administration of the lottery, going towards your chance to win up to £25,000.   

The remaining 10p goes towards LUSU. Lancaster University Students’ Union is a charity that supports the student experience for every student at Lancaster. This money goes towards improving that experience through Sport, Societies, Welfare, Events, and more.

“Our 64 inter-varsity and college sport clubs are the beating heart of our sport programme and are generously supported by funding from Lancaster University. However, under the increasing financial strain that ours and every other university faces, the impact to the student experience is at risk, as they look to maintain Lancaster’s high standard of academic practice. We want to ensure that the same experience so many graduates had participating in sport is maintained for the future generations of Lancaster. As evident by so many faces that return to campus or travel across the Pennines to spectate our amazing varsity (and watch us beat York again), sport at Lancaster is magical and a huge component of what alumni take with them when they leave.
